While not totally serious, EROTIKUS is an accurate attempt to chronicle the history of the Gay film from its naive, softer-than-soft beginnings to its current evolution. The naked narrator, Fred Halsted, takes the audience through decades of all male erotica with footage from some of the early underground and mail order 8mm films, as well as extracts from eleven of the best 16mm gay erotica films ever created. However, EROTIKUS is by no means one of those dull, lifeless documentaries that focus too much on discourse and not enough on action. It has MORE SEX in EVERY frame than any other gay movie currently on release. The "crème de la crème"—the greatest of the best—are the only things it displays by nature.
